The challenge
nbn runs Australia's National Broadband Network, and the portals behind it are used every day by internal nbn teams, external Retail Service Provider (RSP) operators and field technicians. Across Management, Activation and Assurance, those experiences needed to look, behave and scale as one, without every team rebuilding the same components in their own way.
What we did
We created and now manage nbn's enterprise design system, including its governance and contribution model, so teams across the organisation can build on it and add to it safely. Built on Material UI and documented in Storybook, designed in Figma and delivered with GitHub Copilot, Jira, Confluence and Miro, the system gives nbn's Management, Activation and Assurance portals one consistent, accessible, well-governed component library, for internal staff, RSP operators and field technicians alike.
